Remastered film to be released on March 26, 2025 Original Japanese version to be screened in theaters for the first time
Fans of the classic anime film Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust rejoice!
The film is getting a remastered Blu-ray release on March 26, 2025. The Blu-ray will include the remastered film, as well as bonus features such as behind-the-scenes footage & a soundtrack CD.
Japanese Screenings
In addition to the Blu-ray release, there will also be a revival screening of the film in theatres across Japan from February 28 to March 7, 2025. This will be the first time that the original Japanese version of the film has ever been screened in theaters. I’m incredibly sad to learn the news of Kazuki Takahashi’s death. Yu-Gi-Oh! was a huge inspiration for Gothest & there’s a lot of references to it throughout the game. While there are many other games that it drew influence from, it’s arguable that Gothest might never have come to exist if not for Yu-Gi-Oh! since it’s what first inspired me to start coming up with my own card games back when I was an 11 year old kid too poor to be able to afford real Duel Monsters cards. I never dreamed that I’d end up on a level where we could collaborate or anything, but it would have been cool to at least meet him & tell him how much he inspired me some day, but now that can never happen… Still, his legacy lives on! His contributions to card games, anime & manga will continue forever, & he will always be remembered as one of the greats!
